Well, you have to give the media some credit/blame. If they want a new party to emerge, bam, it exist (Ross Perot and his Reform party) and if they want to ignore a third party candidate, his name won't even be mentioned. Read the news accounts of Ruby Ridge. Bo Gritz, a former Green Beret, was a running for President when he negotiate the surrender of the surviving Wevers. Often his name isn't even mentioned, a virtual media blackout. Although a few news accounts mentioned his name, none mentioned that he was on the campaign trail.

Can't say I cared for either of the two candidates above.

Yes, it's a brave new world with all the bloggers, don't think the media isn't upset that it has lost some influence. At least there isn't a media blackout over the fact that bloggers exist.

(Hmm, it's starting to look like you need another "Deanna Allen" type story)

Just found your site and like this first post to it. I am as you can guess by the name Republican however I have serious problems with both parties at this time. They all actively work to keep candidates they don't agree with off of their own tickets. If you are a third party they go nuts with getting you removed from ballots and not inviting to debates etc.... I don't fit cleanly into either of the major parties as I am a social liberal and fiscal conservative (which used to be the republicans).

I know it is a strange combination now a days being pro gay marriage and also supporting the war (Veteran from Gulf 1). I agree that it is time for a new party as right now the republicans and the dems spend more money denouncing each other and on pet projects to spend our money effectively in Washington. Also the republicans used to be the party of small government, not anymore as much as the leaders still say they are.

I don't know if it is the liberatarian party but it is time for something new that is a common sense party. I know many conservative Democrats who feel alienated from their party as well as republican social liberals like me who feel left out of the republican party.

Keep the government out of our bedrooms, homes and jobs and most importantly keep them out of our wallets.

The LP forgets the silent CIVIL in front of Libertarian, thus becoming Corporate Libertarians. Until they real;ize that corporations are a grave threat to individuals, they're doomed. DAN
